Snack Discussion
While enjoying a healthy snack, here are some things for girls to talk about:
How do you wake up in the morning? Do you set an alarm? Do your parents wake you?
Is it hard to keep your room clean and organized?
What can you do to make cleaning your room fun?
Where is your favorite place to do your homework?
How do you remember special events and birthdays?
Does your family keep a family calendar? If so, what activities or events do you keep track of?
If you made the grocery list for your next shopping trip, what would you include?
What are your favorite ways to stay organized?

Weather Relay
Divide clothing into bags (one set of each outfit placed in each bag).
1. Split the girls into two teams and give each team a bag of clothes.
2. At the signal, call out which type of weather the girls need to dress for (hot or cold).
3. As a team, the girls must find which clothing items they need.
4. The first girl will then dress for that weather, run to a turnaround point, run back to her team, remove the clothes and hand them to the next girl.
5. The next girl repeats the process.
6. The first team to finish and sit down wins!
7. Play a second time with the other outfit, if you wish. You may also choose different types of clothes and weather (rain, snow, beach, etc.).

Plan Your Morning
Have the girls write down what they have to do in the morning.
Have them work with a teammate to guess how long each thing should take.
Have them take home the sheet and write how long it really takes them for a few mornings. Have a parent help them decide how early they need to get up to finish everything before they need to go to school.

Aluminum Can Pencil Holders
Make sure aluminum cans are empty, have their labels removed and are clean.
1. Explain to the girls the importance of keeping their things organized. One way of staying organized is by having special containers for different things. Today, girls will make a container to hold pencils,
scissors and other desk items.
2. Cut out construction paper sized to cover the can.
3. Color the construction paper prior to gluing it on the can.
4. Glue the construction paper onto the can.

Craft and At Home |
Sort your school supplies.
Have the girls make a list of the items you need to take to school every day. They can create picture to help remind them.
At home choose a place to be your "school set-up area," and keep your supplies there. Have the girls use their list to check that you have each item each day for 1 week.

At Home |
Make and label play-stuff bins.
Instruct the girls to organize their toys at home.
Tell them to:
Use shoe boxes for smaller stuff like that could easily get lost. Use larger bins with lids for stuffed animals or games.
Label boxes with words or pictures. When you put things away, play "match the label" to find the right bin. Next time you want to play, your space will be clean, and everything will be easy to find!

Organize your clothes.
Tell the girls to organize their clothes at home.

First, find the clothes you wear most often. Keep those in drawers or closet spaces that are easy to reach. Put clothes for another season in a less-used area of your closet. Ask your family if you can give away clothes that are too small. Then, get a dirty-clothes hamper!

Make a Calendar Book
1. Explain to the girls that keeping a calendar is a great way to stay organized and plan ahead.
2. Have each girl create her own calendar book.
3. Direct girls to cut out the calendar template and glue it onto construction paper.
4. They can then write the name of the month at the top of the page and fill in the dates. Girls can create a calendar for just one month, the school year or the full calendar year. List birthdays, holidays, Girl
Scout meetings and other important events on the calendar.
5. Next, have girls decorate the calendar book. They can draw pictures or make fun borders around each month. Girls may also create a cover if they wish.

Wise Owl Job Holder
Each girl should cut out an owl pattern and glue the eyes, beak and feather pouch onto the owl base. Maybe you could purchase sequins or wiggly eyes for the eyes or real feathers for the wings. The girls would love that. Make sure they understand to glue ONLY THE EDGES of the pocket so it can hold their job feathers. Help the girls write a simple job to be done at home on each feather (i.e.: make my bed, set the table, clean my room, take out the trash, etc.)
